Taking inventory made super fast
I work as the Executive Chef of a five star property. Among the innumerable jobs that I have to do, one is taking the inventory of the raw materials that comes in the hotel after checking them for quality and quantity. I have many people working under me because this job takes a lot of time. Every food item that was delivered to the hotel was checked against the order form for quantity. For items like fish and meat products, we check them for quality as well. After the checking is done, we feed in the information on paper forms. Then we send the items to the cold storage if they are perishables or to the shelves if they are non-perishables. Then they are allocated to the various kitchens operating in the hotel as per their needs. This information is then fed into the computer. All this needed man power and a lot of data management. But with these mobile forms, all one needs to do is fill in the information on the digital form and the information is directly sent to the computer. Just one person is needed to handle all the information so the manpower cost is also cut down on. There are no errors which usually take place in duplication of work and we can easily keep a track of what food items are going where.
